DR. COOK LEAVES NORTH TOMORROW
Dr, Duncan Cook, for the past six years Medical Officer of Health for NorthJ and. leaves to-morrow for Palmerston North, to take charge ol the health district there. He will motor through with Mr. J Donaldson, and will be followed on Tuesday next by Mrs. Cook and their two daughters. In a farewell message through the “Northern Advocate.” Dr. Cook places on record his personal appreciation of the district nurses in this territory for the ; r devotion to duty and their great capacity for work.
During his stay in Northland Dr. Cook has proved a most efficient, courteous and obliging health officer, and his departure will be regretted i ot only by the pakohas, but also by t'ne Maori people, for whom he has dene so much.
His successor, Dr. Gilberd, will arrive from Auckland next Tuesday.
