FLAX REHABILITATION REGULATIONS GAZETTED

Regulations were issued with the Gazette last night giving effect to the rehabilitation plan for the flax industry. which was approved by the principals engaged in the industry last July. This was prepared under Industrial Effliency Act and it is hoped it will bring about resuscitation of the industry. The personnel of the Industrial Committee set up under the plan, and previously announced, is gazetted. It consists of representatives of the Government and various sections of the industry, including the workers. The members are: Chairman, Dr. E. Marsden; deputy-chairman, Mr E. J. Fawcett, of the Department of Agriculture: Mr F. Johnson, of the Department of Industries and Commerce; Mr A. H. Long, of Northland; Mr L. A. Niederer, of Southland: Mr B. B. Wood, of Christchurch; Mr F. H. Maddren, of Christchurch; Mr H. H. Podmore, of Foxton; and Mr P. T. Robinson, of Palmerston North.
