Personal Pars

Mr Jack Hooker and Mr Clive Horsup, of Stratford, leader and drummer of Hooker’s Swing Band, passed through Whangarei yesterday on their return from a holiday spent among the big fish at Russell. They were accompanied by their wives and families. Mr and Mrs R. H. Walker, who have been appointed to take charge of Te Kao Native School, have taken up their residence there. Mr Walker is no stranger to the North, having acted as assistant at Kaitaia School some years ago. Mr Walker has been carrying on various experiments in vocational training of Maori children, and these will be continued in his new position. Mr and Mrs P. Braik, of Ahipara, have been spending a few day§ at Thames.
