Mortgage Relief Statistics

Figures showing the amount of business transacted to date under the Mortgagors’ and Lessees’ Rehabilitation Act have been released by the Minister of Justice, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason. They show that the number of apr plications for relief filed in respect of farm debts totalled 15,589, and applications relating to other than farm debts totalled 18,884, a grand total of 34,473. The amount written off farm mortgages totals £1,107,115, and the sum written off in the case of other than farm properties totals £338,624, a grand total of £1,445,739.
