Submarine Attacks British Steamer
CIVIL WAR
(Received 1 p.m.) MALTA, January 25. A submarine is reported to have attacked, without warning, the British steamer, Lake Geneva, in the Western Mediterranean, firing 'a torpedo from 304 yaxxls, which passed under the steamer. The submarine came to the surface and then submerged. A Valencia message says the master of the Lake Geneva confirms the attack.
