DR. E. T. DAWSON FAREWELLED
Dr, E. T. Dawson, assistant medical superintendent at the Whangarci District Hospital, accompanied by Mrs. Dawson, and their small daughter, left Whangarei today en route for Whakatane. where Dr, Dawson has been appointed Medical Superintendent of die hospital. Yesterday afternoon, u presentation was made to Dr. and Mrs Dawson on behalf of the nursing staff of (he hospital, and j egret was expressed at the less which the hospital would sustain. The presentation of a travelling rug to Dr. Dawson was made by Mr F. Higginson, a member of the board, on behalf of the nursing stair, a cut glass vase to Mrs Dawson and a book by A. A. Milne to Miss Joan Dawson. Tire function was held in the lounge at the Nurses’ Horne, and afternoon tea was also served. Mr Higginson expressed the '’egret of the staff at the departure of Dr. Dawson, who had been a most popular member of the staff and whose place would be extremely hn>’d to fill. Dost wishes for his" success in the future were expressed. Among those present were the Matron. Miss E. Swayne. Dr. 11. A. Good. Mr W, Grey and Mr D. Jack, and representatives of the whole ot the nursing staff.
