RAPID PROGRESS WITH FILMING NORTHLAND

The filming of Northland has been making rapid progress during the last two days sunshine. Though operations began in Whangarei on Christmas Eve, cloudy conditions hindered progress. Yestei’day 1200 feets were taken. The Maungatapere dairy factory under normal working conditions was done thoroughly, as also were a number of the best milking herds in the district. The Whangarei Heads provided over 1000 feet of scenic attraction, the operator climbing to the top of Manaia to obtain a commanding position for comprehensive views. The plan is to take all industries both primary and secondary such as dairy farming, sheep farming, beef raising, dairy factories, cement mill, brick mills, coal mines, limestone mills, freezing works, sheep shearing, etc.

Good landscape farming views, such as that looking across Maungatapere and Whatitiri from Maunu, and that which can bo obtained from the lop of the Maungakaramea mountain are being featured. Advice and assistance from those who wish to sec this film made thoroughly representative of our farming, industrial, scenic and sporting life will be appreciated cind adopted ii* considered necessary. Early in the week the operator will start on a tour through the North.
