MR. JONES LIKED RIDING IN CENTAURUS
t Per Press Association — Copyright .l WELLINGTON. This Day. “I enjoyed the trip, every minute of it.” said the Minister-in-Charge of Aviation, the Hon. F. Jones, in giving in an interview yesterday some of his impressions of the trip he made in the Centaurus. Mr Jones joined the flying-boat m Wellington and made the flight to Lyttelton and Dunedin and back to the capital. Mr Jones said the low-lying fog experienced on the south trip demonstrated clearly the value of having weather reports and radio services for aircraft. The trip north was occasionally a little humpy, the Minister said, but he was pleased to he making the journey, because it gave him some idea of just how good the flying-boat was in rough stretches. She behaved very well Indeed.
The visit of the Centaurus to the Dominion had given the people a wonwerful opportunity of seeing how far aircraft had been developed in Britain, the Minister concluded. He had been surprised to find how steady the boat was. how little noise it made, and the comfort of travelling in It.
