Plimmerton Retains Cornwell Cup

[Per Press Association. —Copyright.] WELLINGTON, This Day. The Cornwell Cup was retained by Plimmerton, who won the eighth race today. The boats started at 9.48 a.m.. and the finishing times were:— Plimmerton, lOhrs 39mins 13secs 1 Wellington, lOhrs 39mins 35secs . 2 Otago, lOhrs 40mins 52secs 3 The afternoon race yesterday was won by Tauranga by 38 seconds from Plimmerton. This was Tauranga’s second win. Several capsizes marred the racing events, but apart from these the contests were exceptionally keen and interesting. Auckland, Paremata and Wellington scored one win each.
