Child Dies After Drinking Petrol
[Per Press Association. Covyright.'i HASTINGS, This Day. As the result of drinking petrol from a small bottle, Ngaire Gedye, aged four, died yesterday afternoon in Hastings. The child, with two others a few years older, entered a woodshed where she found a small bottle containing benzine, which her father used for replenishing his cigarette lighter. It is understood the child swallowed about a tablespoon full and was suffocated by the fumes.
