A gentleman visited the house oj an eld friend where .the butler, an Irishman, paid him every attention, and finally saw him into his carriage The gentleman, who was miserly, did not tip him. As a delicate reminder, the butler said, “Faith, sorr, if you lose your purse on the way home, remember you didn’t pull it out here.”
