GAOL FOR THEFT AND PERJURY
[Special To “Northern Advocate ”] ■ AUCKLAND, This Day.
Because Mr F. K. Hunt, S.M., considered that Leslie George Judd had gone into the witness box in the Police Court this morning and perjured himself. the magistrate sentenced him to 14 days’ imprisonment on one of two charges of theft. Judd, a labourer, aged 29, pleaded not guilty to charges of stealing a lady’s handbag containing 5/7 and a powder compact, of a total value of 18/8, and a purse, mirror, powder puff and 4d in money, of a total value of 5/7, belonging to two girls who had attended a dance in the Orange Hall on New Year’s Eve.
