, (Received 2 p,m.) CANBERRA, This Day. ' Customs and excise revenue for the rst half of the financial year exuded that for the corresponding eriod of 1936 lay £2,587,276 and was ',1, 883,'792 higher than the Budget stimates.
It is believed that should the buoyncy in Federal revenue continue, the nancial year may end. with a surplus { nearly £3,000,000 and Cabinet may bandon its proposal to borrow i 2,000,000 in London lor defence, and rovide this money from, revenue.
