RUMANIAN JEWS FACE THREAT OF DANGER
(Received 10 a.m.)
LONDON, January 2,
A message from Bucharest states that a special service, reserved for Jews when great danger threatens, was held there in thronged synagogues.
The worshippers included many prominent persons who had not attended for a long time. i Jewish merchants are curtailing long-term orders, owing to nervousness and many are selling out their stocks, which they will not replace. The new Government’s anti-Semetic programme is expected to divide Jews into categories as follows; (1) War veterans and their children, who will not be molested.
(2) Those who did not fight for a good reason, whose case will be considered in the light of their activities since the Great War.
(3) Non-participants in the war, and post-war immigrants, against whom every possible measure is expected to be taken.
