CONCLUDING DAY OF TROTS AT AUCKLAND

The outstanding feature of the concluding day of the Auckland Trotting Club’s summer meeting at Epsom on Friday was the brilliant performan-ce by the Australian champion Lawn Derby in winning the President’s Handicap in the good time of 4.17/3-5. The attendance was large, and the totalisator handled £35.148 10/-. compared with £13,618 KP- on the third day last year, an increase of £16,530. The investments for the meeting were £125,670, against £89.154 last year, an increase of £36,516.
Concluding results.— New Year Handicap, of 200 sovs.; one and a half miles.— (3-2) Cavan Chief, set’., 1; (6-5) True Artist. 12yds.. 2; (l-d) Fremont, 12 yards, 3. Nine other starters. Length and a quarter; a length. Time —3.24.
Association Handicap, of 300 sovs.; twq miles—l 4-3) Tan John. scr„ 1: (2-1) Parrish Belle. 72 yards, 2; (1-2) Bittersweet, 96 yards. 3. Seven other starters. Length and a half: two lengths. Time—4.39 3-5. Premier Handicap, of 300 sovs.; one and a half miles —(1-2) Gold Dredge, 24 yards, 1: (2-1) Nervie’s Last, 48 yards, 2; (3-3) Kenworthy, scr., 3, Eight other starters. A neck; two lengths. Time—3.lß 3-5.
Onslow Handicap, of 225 sovs.; one mile. —(4-5) Argolis, 24 yards, 1; (10-10) Handicapper. 12 yards 2; (6-6)’ Our Peggy. 24 yards. 3. Ten other starters. A length: length and a half. Time— 2.12.
