Ruakaka School Christmas Tree

To mark the closing of the school year, the local pupils, with theii parents and friends, gathered at Ruakaka public school grounds for their annual sports and Christmas tree. Lunch was spread beneath the trees and each child was given an orange. A. parade of calves also was shown, judged by Mr Phillips, of Maungatapere. An exhibition of children’s work was laid out inside the school. Late in the afternoon, all gathered round the Xmas tree, when the members of the school committee presented the gifts. Each child in the district was provided with a toy, including the absentees and babies-in-arms.
