Eight Deaths In French Asylum Fire
(Received 10 a.m.) PARIS, December 2G. At least eight lives were lost in a fire following Christmas celebrations at Montredon lunatic asylum, near Lepuy, which has accommodation for •3000. The fire spread to the violent section, where panic reigned. Hundreds of inmates and attendants, hided by firemen and Mobile Guards, controlled and rescued the majority of the inmates. Twelve escaped in the confusion.
