\ The exiled Emperor, Haile Selassie, spent the whole of Christmas Day m prayer. He received greetings from .sympathisers in 20 different countries and from.fi’iends in Abyssinia.
“A fait accompli must be recognised, ’ declared the Netherlands Foreign Minister, answering a written question regarding the Dutch attitude to the conquest of Abyssinia.
Non-recognition would be harmful to relations between italy and the Netherlands, be said, and recognition v/as not dangerous to small Powers.
