The Westland Racing Club’s one-day meeting v/as held yesterday in fine, dull weather, before an excellent attendance. The course was in splendid cider. The totalisator handled £5225 for the day, as against £6301/10/ for the first day last year. Results:—
Maiden Stakes, of 70 sovs.; six furlongs.—(4) Bright Prospects, 8.0, 1; (8) Glenacre, 8.12, 2; (2) Patuma, 7.7. 3. Seven other starters. A neck; two lengths. Time: 1.16. Thompson Memorial Handicap, of 30 sovs.; six furlongs.—(3) Royal Amphora, 7.0, 1; (1) Land Raid, 9.2, 2; (2> Rose Val, 7.6, 3. The only starters. A neck; one and a-half lengths. Time: i. 15 o-5.
Kanieri Hack Handicap, of 80 sovs.; seven furlongs.—(2) Drink Up, 8.10, 1; (1) Potent, 8.2, 2; (7) Elmarch, 7.6, 3. Five other starters. Three-quarters of a length; one and a-half lengths. Time: 1.29 2-5.
Westland Handicap, of 150 sovs.; I’, miles. —(1) Linguist, 8.12, 1; (2) Rebel Chief, 9.4, 2; (3) Monipere, 8.8, 3. One ether starter. Three-quarters of a length; one and a-half lengths. Time: 2.9 1-5.
