New Vicar Established At Paparoa
The special service for the institution of the Vicar was observed at St. Mark’s Church on Friday night, on the occasion of the commencement of the ministry of the Rev. M. Bull in the Paparoa Anglican parish, which covers a wide area, including Waipu and Mangawai. with many distant preaching places. The attendance was representative of Paparoa itself and outlying districts. Archdeacon Hawkins led the service and Mrs T. W. Wright presided at the organ. The Archdeacon said he would not preach, but. in a brief, but practical and earnest address, emphasised tho duties of the vicar in his ministry and cure for the people in their spiritual welfare, and. appealed to the congregation for their loyalty and co-opera-tion. The Rev. Bull briefly spoke in response.
