FOUND LYING ON ROAD; DIED IN HOSPITAL

Found propped against a building at the corner of Bogcl and Gordon Sh eets at 1 o’clock on Saturday morning, Mr James Cathirin McKenzie, aged 67 years, of Macandi’ew Road, died in hospital at 4.40 a.m. He was picked up in the middle of the road by two young men, who removed him to the footpath. An inquest was opened, and a postmortem examination was ordered. This revealed that Mr McKenzie had several ribs broken and a slight rupture of the heart, the nature of his injuries being consistent with his having been run over by a motor car.
