Morgan Betters His Discus Throw

[Per Press Association. Copyright] WANGANUI, This' Day.

The Wanganui discus thrower, J. Morgan, who won the event at the New Zealand Empire Games trials in Wellington last Saturday, was quick to take advantage of the advice given to him by Mr A. Fitch, the special American coach imported by the Wellington Athletic Centre.

Morgan, in a special trial last night, arranged under championship conditions and in the presence of officials, threw the discus 137 feet three inches in one throw and 137 feet in the next, thus bettering his effort at Wellington by over six feet.
