Tauraroa
The Tauraroa school concert, held in the hall on Friday evening, was a great success. The attendance was good. The children, although they only had three weeks in which to prepare, knew their parts perfectly. The performers were appropriately dressed. The programme was as follows: ‘■Fairy Foot,” play; pianofede solo, Dulcie McCullough; “Three Kittens,” play; Irish jig, J. Woolhouse, E. Owens. P. Browne; "The Tail,” Shirley Woolhouse; “The Wind,” Betty le Variant; Maori songs; "The Weatherhouse,” play; Sea Shanties; “Animal Crackers “Down by the Fond," Tom Browne; “Choice of Wings,” Joan Browne; ‘Lucky Cobbler,” play; “Mousie,' Graeme McCullough; “The Invalid,” Beilina McCullough; “Three Ships,” infants; "The Snail,” Noel Fulton; “The Christening,” Valerie McCullough; “Old People”; recitation, Lexie Purdon; recitation, Joyce Woolhouse; “Shopping”; “Twinkletoes,” Thea Sherman; “Bedtime,” Beverley McCullough. Mr J. Banks congratulated both pupils and teachers on the entertainment. At the conclusion of the concert the hall was cleared for dancing. The hamper and cake competitions were won by Mr L. Grantham and Mrs Cebalo respectively. The ladies provided an excellent supper.
