Miss Batten Ordered A Complete Rest

(Received ,10 a.m.) LONDON, December 13. The “Daily Herald” says Miss Jean Batten, who is run down, after the strain of her recent flight, is seriously ill with a severe chill. Her doctor has ordered her complete rest. Miss Batten is planning a solo attempt on the record made by Scott and Black on their flight to Melbourne. She will use a robot pilot to relieve a considerable portion of the strain. From another source, however, it is stated that Miss Batten denies she intends to fly from England to Melbourne. She says she has no flight in contemplation.
