Steady Bidding On Stock Exchange

[Special To “Northern Advocate”! AUCKLAND, This Day.

A moderate inquiry still continues on the Auckland Stock Exchange, and a fair list of sales was reported at this morning's call, with steady bidding following in the room. The lone, however. was quiet, and there were few important alterations in values. In the banking section, Commercials had a sale at 16/11, equal to late quotations, but 2d up on the last sale 10 days ago. ;New Zealands had their first transaction since the 1/- dividend was paid, selling 1/8 down, at £2 3/8. The weakening trend in Nationals continues, and the scrip changed hands at! £2 15/-, a drop of 1/-.

Australian industrials were rather dull, the only sale being of Broken Hill Proprietary which sold 6d cheaper at £3 3/-.

Amongst domestic issues, Farmers’ Trading shares were steady at par, and Rycrofts had a market between £2 2/and £2 3/6.

In Government stocks, 52—55's were offered 5/- lower, at £lO4 15/-, with buyers at 10/- less. The sales completed at the noon call today were:—South British, £4 17/6; Guarantee Corporation. 4/6; Broken Hill Proprietary, £3 2/6; Colonial Sugar, £47 10/-; Bycrofts, £2 2/6; Consolidated Brick, 7/5; Farmers’ Fertiliser, 19/6.
