THE ADVENTURES OF MICHAEL
“Goodbye, my friend,” the Kaka stud; “I have grown tired of roaming, Bo with my pack upon my back, I’ll very soon be homing. Now promise that you’ll come quite soon to stay awhile with me. My home address is on my card, so keep it carefully.”
Mike thinks, perhaps, that if he had a tramping holiday, He'd call on Mr Kaka, and with him a while would stay. Ho finds that tramping over hills is not a pleasant dream, And nearly drops his precious pack when wacling through a stream.
At last a tired, bedraggled Mike arrives at “Kaka Tree.” “Oh, welcome to my leafy home,” his friend says cheerfully. "I’m very, very glad you’re here,” adds Kaka with a smile; “And now that you have come so far you must stay quite a while.”
But oh, alas, when bedtime comes,’ with horror Mike’s cheeks blanche, For all he has to sleep on is a bare and draughty branch! Friend Kaka soon is fast asleep, and Mike sits there alone, And thinks of his own cosy bed, and can’t suppress a groan.
