Auckland Houses To Be Sold Under Rating Act
[Special To “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND, This Day.
By unanimous vote last evening, the Auckland City Council decided to institute arrangements for the sale of 25 houses under the Rating Act, .1925. In most cases, rates were owing from six to nine years and over, and other steps, including court procedure, had been taken.
Of Cue total estimated collection by the Treasury Department for 1937-38, collections to date totalled £148.417. a percentage of 28.96, as compared with 27.69 per cent, in 1936-37, and 24.58 per cent, in 1935-36.
The percentage collection of arrears total 78.84 per cent., as compared with 88.27 last year and 49.11 in 1935-36.
