More Coloured Lighting For Special Occasions

On the suggestion of the Mayor, Mr W. Jones. the Whangarei Borough Council last night decided to delegate 1o the electrical committee power to act in connection with the acquiring of more coloured lights for decorative purposes. Although Whangarei had a lighting system second to none in New Zealand, raid the Mayor, he was of the opinion that more coloured lights for special occasions were desirable. If the council could afford the installation it would be a worth-while investment for the borough. Present arrangements for lighting at Christmas. as decided upon by the electrical committee, include coloured illuminations of the Triangle and Central Park.
