Litchfield, who started from a handicap of 6.1 f, boat F. Brvant (5 15) by about 30 yards. S Rippon (.3.45) was third. Last year’s winner. Miss Mona Loydon, did not start, the only woman competitor being Miss W. Wilson, of Whangarni, who started from a handicap of 3.45 and finished in sixth place about 100 yards behind the winner. 3 wenty-oighl swimmers started only one CA. E. Lovell) failing to complete the course. C. R, Buchanan, the scratch man, secured the fastest time.
