School Bus With Defective Brakes
An allegation that the school bus they operated bad defective brakes was made against Peter Campbell (owner) and Mabel Campbell (driver) before Mr G. N. Morris, S.M., at the Rawene Court. They did not appear. Traffic-Inspector Treadgold stressed the fact that on winding narrow roads it was necessary to have brakes of the best and most efficient kind, especially so when dealing with the carriage of school children.
Mr Morris appreciated the seriousness of the offence and convicted and fined the owner £4 with costs. The driver was convicted and discharged.
