Sunday Funerals Discouraged

The question of Sunday funerals was discussed at a meeting of the Invercargill Ministers' Association yesterday. Il was agreed that, while every consideration and sympathy must be shown to those in trouble and no absolute refusal to lake Sunday funerals could be entertained, the practice should be rigorously discouraged. T!ie association decided to notify undertakers that, in future, funerals would be conducted on Sundays only in exceptional circumstances, and that, where such a funeral is unavoidable, it should lake place not later I ban il o’clock in the morning.
