i Kauri Women's Institute

Tin l monthly meeting of the Kauri Institute was hold in the* hall on December 7. The president, Mrs Coxhead, presided ever a good attendance, even though the afternoon was very wet. The roll-call was “A savoury recipe." The competition awards for a Christmas gift costing one shilling went to Miss S. Graham, with Mrs Bruce Jones second, and Mrs A. Drever third. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs H. E. Johnson, president of the North Auckland Federation, who gave an interesting and instructive talk on Institute matters. The motto was: “The happiness of one’s life depends on the character of one’s thoughts." Afteunoon tea was served by the hostesses. Mrs Graham and Miss S. Graham.
