Record Year For Motor Campers In North?
fSpecial To ‘‘Northern Advocate”] K ALTAI A. This Day.
As numerous improvements have been made to the majority of the recognised camping grounds in Northland, it is naturally expected that this year will be a record one for motor campers in the Northland district. Two patrol officers of the Auckland branch of the Automobile Association, Mr J. Verran, of Kaikohc, and Mr H. K. Ford, of Whangarei, have just completed a 450-miles' tour ot Ihe four j orthern counties. When interviewed. Mr Verran stated that the roads, on the whole, are in very fair order, with the exception of beyond Te Kao, where they are very rough. The Ninety-Mile Beach at Ahipara is rather tricky, he stated, and, motorists would be well advised to learn the slate of the beach before driving there. The Awanui-Mangonui Road, via Taipa, has been much improved.
