Every now and again wo road in the papers that “one more unfortunate” has paid the penalty for smoking in bed. How many have lost their lives in that way. who can say? Smokers arc often stupidly careless. Smoking in bed is certainly a dangerous habit, but because some smokers persist-in running foolish risks, is that any reason why all smoking should be taboo? As reasonable would it be to prohibit all spert because some sportsmen arc fool-hardy. But smoking in bed is not the only dangerous habit practised by smokers.
