PERSONAL

The Rev. and Mrs H. T. Steele and Miss Steele, who have been visiting England, are passengers on the Blue Star motorship Empire Star, which is due at New Plymouth from Port Alma, Australia, on Saturday. It is not known when they will reach Whangarei. The presentation of a travelling rug was made yesterday to Mr L. C. Lucas, who has been attached to the staff of the Whangarei railway station for nearly 11 years. In the absence of the Stationmaster, Mr D. E. Wilton handed over the gift and expressed the good wishes of the staff to the departing member. Mr Lucas left by the express this morning on transfer to Mount Eden station, Auckland.
