Italy and Japan are Getting Together
(Received 10 a.m.) ROME, November 29. Italy has officially recognised the Japanese puppet State of Manchukuo as a foreign State and has decided to establish a, legation there. It is expected that Manchukuo will adhere to the Anti-Communist Pact as the result of this recognition. The next step is expected to be an lUto-Jtopanese accord. A trade agreement is already being negotiated and arrangements are in hand for a resumption of Japanese treat- with Abyssinia. • The Hongkong correspondent of the ‘Daily Telegraph” reports that the Italian mine-layer Lepanzo (615 lons> wag refused supplies by the Chinese a, Amoy, owing to Italy’s recognition oi Manchukuo.
