Art Treasures Stolen From Rockefeller Centre
(Received 11.30 a.m.) NEW YORK, November 29
Art treasures valued at 25,000 dollars, once belonging to the Russian Imperial family, were stolen from the Schacer Galleries, Rockfeller Centre. Thieves drove up at 5.30 a.m., daringly hurled a brick thrugh a plate-glass door and seized about 150 objects before being scared away by a passer-by.
The lot included a gold and silver mounted Bible, once owned by Nicholas IL, a pair of gold and silver champagne coolers, once owned by j Alexander IL, but the theives over- ; looked an eight-carat gold samovar, j weighing 54 lbs., worth 25,000 dollars, once owned by Alexander 11.
