Calf Club Jottings
The Central Parade for the Whangarei Group is to be held at Kensington Park on Thursday, December 9.
Judges for Whangarei Group shovr have not yet been finalised. The task of interviewing likely gentlemen has been left to Mr J. H. Dennehy. At this Central Parade, a new class has been instituted. This is for children who were not placed in any class in 1936 and who do not gain a place at this year’s parade. The class is for “handling.” It will be remembered that the Farmers’ Trading Company’s Challenge Cup for the most entries per roll number of school is again up for competition. Last year Mata School was the winner.
The following system of pointing has been adopted in connection with the above competition:—Hie number of calves presented at the school parade, both junior and seniors, is divided by the roll -number from Standard 3 to Standard 6. Although no child is allowed to present more than one calf, the percentage may be higher than TOO, because of the junior entries. Thus, judges will obtain from each school the senior school roll so the average may bo worked out.
