“STEEL MIS IS BEST GUARANTEE OF PEACE”

(Received 10 a.m.) • BERLIN, November 27. In the course of a speech of Hamburg, General Goering elaborated the text cf Germany’s desire to share in world commerce and regain her colonies. He said she did not intend to isolate herself. On the contrary, the creation of Greater Hamburg proved the importance of these -aims. General Goering indicated that Germany intended to join the world in peaceful competition. “We shall net cease to demand our colonies back,” said the speaker. “We shall succeed, not through other.?’ goodwill, but through our own strength.” After emphasising the growth cU Germany’s armed forces. General Goering said: “Germ'any can no longer be ignored. No nation in the world caii now afford to treat Germany’s interests with less attention than its own.” The Steel Axis, Other, nations realised the value of Germany’s friendship. “The Steel taxis which is ' binding us with Rome and Tokio is a better guarantee of world peace than the League ‘ chatterboxes who meet at Geneva.’ ” Germany’s four-yetar plan was intended to make Germany independent in every direction. “Foreigners hope to bring us economically to our knees, but they will not succeed,” said General Goering. “We seek not only political and military independence, but also economic independence. We do not desire to isolate ourselves economically, but foreign nations are compelling us to do so by withholding from us the world’s products.”
