“The improvement in the internal situation of Abyssinia expected after lire rains is far from apparent.” reports the Jibouti correspondent of “The Times.”
“The Abyssinians have cut the roads leading from Addis Ababa to Jimma and Gore, necessitating armoured convoys. The economic position is moving from bad to worse, and anxiety is increasing. The passive resistance of the natives is proving effective. l- A formidable task awaits the new Viceroy, the Duke of Aosta.”
