Murder In Streets Of Chicago

(Received 10 a.m.) CHICAGO, November 25,

Two masked gunmen sprang out of a motor car and fatally shot Fred Blacker, aged 42, a cinematograph projectionist, while he was walking in a street early this morning with Mrs Blacker.

It is revealed that Blacker, who was an active unionist, fled from Indiana in May after the issue of a warrant in connection with the throwing of a smoko bomb in a theatre, for which two other men are serving sentences. He came to Chicago, where he rented an apartment and obtained work under an assumed name. It is believed that he was the victim of enemies from Indiana labour circles.
