Dutch Destroyer Fires On Japanese Fishing Vessel
(Received 10 a.m.) THE HAGUE, October 2.
A Dutch destroyer fired on an escaping Japanese fishing vessel in the Dutch East Indies.
A message from Singapore says the Japanese fishing boat was the Tokei Marti. She was alleged to have been in Dutch territorial waters in the Rhic Archipelago and was ordered to stop several times by the destroyer Flores. Eventually. a warning shot was fired, and then another. A third shot hit the boat, killing two and wounding two. The rest were captured.
