An alleged Italian anarchist, Aldo Fiamberti, has been arrested in connection with the bomb outrage in Paris on September 11. ' ♦ * v The death has occurred of Sir Granville Ryrie, Australian soldier and politician and High Commissioner for Australia in London from 1927 to 1932, says a Sydney message. He was 72 years old. The Government is providing a Stgte funeral.
It is understood that the German Government is instructing its Ambassador in London, Herr von Ribbentrop. to officially protest to the Brtish Government against a recent speech by Mr Alfred Barnes, Labour member for the South Division of East Ham, who described Herr Hitler and Signor Mussolini as “gangsters.”
After swinging helplessly at the end of a rope for nine days over a precipice in the Barvarian Alps, Erwin Vuzen, a German mountaineer, was rescued by guides. He was unconscious and his limbs were frozen. Vuzen had attempting to descend the precipice in an attempt to find a comrade who had fallen. The body of the latter was found 600 feet below.
It is officially stated that the Duke and Duchess of Windsor will shcwtly visit Gei-many and the United States. They will make a study of housing and labour conditions. The statement adds that the Duke has always interested himself in the well-being of workers, and looks forward to gaining further experience.
