Monkey Business At Westport

[Special to “Northern Advocate’"} WESTPORT, This Day. Thei'e was monkey business in Westpert yesterday. A motor-lorry trailer carrying animals belonging to Sole Brothers’ Circus, capsized on the Buffer Gorge Road, and for 4i hours seven monkeys were free.

Making the most of their unexpected freedom, the monkeys scampered through bush and scrub, pursued by perspiring circus hands. To submit meekly to capture was not the way in Monkey-land—'at any rate not when there was a tree within reach.

With gusto, local residents joined in the chase. It was strategy, however, that won the doy. A Judas of the monkey clan was used to lure the runaways back to captivity and eventually all were safely returned to their cage.
