Wanganui Beekeepers Oppose Socialisation
(Per Press Association. c 'ovyrightl WANGANUI, This Day. Alarmed at the prospect of compulsory State marketing of honey. Wanganui beekeepers, representing 90 per cent, of the producers, within a radius of 30 miles of the city, decided on Saturday night to inform the Minister of Finance and Agriculture '.’•■at they were strongly opposed to the socialisation of the industry.
The meeting supported the compulsory grading of honey and the fixation of minimum prices for the respective grades by the Honey Expoit Control Board, us at present constituted. A resolution was also passed opposing centralised packing depots, “which means loading the product with un-' necessary freight and labour costs.” -
