Mrs Sarah Kearne

The sudden death in the Whangarei Hospital early this morning of. Mrs Sarah Frances Kearne, of , Hatea Street, has come as a great shock to her many friends in the town. Deceased took ill just over a week •ago, was admitted to hospital last Sunday and underwent surgical treatment.

Mrs Kearne, who was 58 years of age. was a member of the well-known Kelly family, of Taranaki. She received her education in New Plymouth, was married in Amberley and for five years, lived with her husband, Mr Arthur H. Kearne, in Wanganui.

They then moved to Whangarei and have lived here ever since.

Although she led a rather quiet life, the late Mrs Kearne was a very popular woman. Her activities were confined mostly to her home, but she was a keen gardener.

She is survived by Mr Kearne and one son, Frank. The interment takes place at Maimu on Friday afternoon.
