After having clinched the treble of the Northland Rugby League, Karoo came to grief on Saturday in their champion of champions match with Hikurangi, conceding the runners-up in the champion-

ship victory by 8 points to 3. i The game was played at Hikurangi. the home team deserving their success, although Kamo did not field their usual combination. In the first half. Hikurangi completely dominated exchanges and should have had double the 8 points they actually did score. Kamo went, much better in the second stanza, and many movements broke down inches from the line. R. Hamilton, at centre, played an outstanding game for tire victors while Lenne and J. Taylor stood out in the Kamo side. Harris aird C. Taylor scored for Hikurangi. R. Hamilton converting one. Frew capped off a Kamo back move with a excellent try. Mr Ron Scott was referee.
