HITLERISM, FASCISM DENOUNCED

(Received 10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, June 23. Speaking in the Senate today, Mr. W. E. Borah, •who was chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee under the last Republican administration, said an adequate army and an adequate navy were needed to protect the- United States against possible foes from within and from without the nation. He denounced very bitterly both Hitlerism and Fascism. “The Governments of Germany and Italy are carrying on war against the Spanish Government,” said Mr. Borah. “The guns and men which massacred the people of Guernica were furnished by the German and Italian Governments. “The basic principles of Nazi-ism and Fascism are duplicity and deception. • •: ■'
