Stock Exchange Opens Quietly
[Special to “Northern Advocate ” 3 AUCKLAND, Wednesday.
The Auckland' Stock , Exchange opened quietly this morning, with very little variation in values other than those of Australian metal sharesThis group lost part of the advance made in the past few days. For Electro Zinc, sellers of the ordinary shares lowered their limits to £2 13/9, while-buyers were unchanged at £2 13/.
Mt. Lyells were quoted closed between £2 0/9 and £2 H, and Broken Hill Proprietary sold 1/ lower at £3' 18/. Offers for Mt. Morgans dropped back to 11/9,- sellers asking, 12/6. , Firming id ; Australian,, t . ; Glass was shown in a sale eunildative dividend at £4 12/6, a rise of 1%/,' after which sellers quoted ex dividend, at £4 12/3, without buyers: 'G; J.v Coles fell sharply, buyers stopping at £5, with sellers 5/ higher. / In the banking section, New Zealands, after a late, sale yesterday at £2 4/, sold again at £2 3/10. Commercials were firmer, quoted from 18/4 to 18/6. Government securities showed little alteration. ' ' >
