TRINIDAD TROUBLE; MORE DEATHS
(Received 10 a.m.) PORT OF SPAIN, June 22. 1 Another man was killed today in the Trinidad dispute and eight more people were wounded when volunteers fired on a group of oilfield strikers, who were attacking the Fernando telephone exchange. The strikers previously had been driven out of the power plant, after cutting off the electricity. Four more people were killed in a clash between strikers and police, bringing the list of dead to 14. (Four platoons. of marines were ' landed from H.M.S. Ajax and established machine-guns at strategic positions, in order to protect the oilfields. H.M.S. Exeter is expected soon with reinforcements. Mob Burns Station. At Rio Clara a mob burned the railway station, tore up the track and cut the telephone wdres, - isolating the region from Port of Spain. The harbour workers have declared a sympathy strike. The islands entire oil industry is crippled and much other business is suspended. A hunt is still being conducted for a negro labour organiser, Uria Vutler, whom the authorities blame for the strike.
